The dairy was established in 1950 - it was equipped with a pasteurizer with the output of 5,000 litres per hour, three storage tanks with a capacity of 3,000 litres each and a wooden churn. It was designed to supply milk to Ostrava; hence the dairy's own production was limited to cottage cheese and soft cheese. Afterwards, other plants were added to the Bystřice dairy, which resulted into the establishment of Gottwald dairies, which consisted of 9 plants. The headquarters were subsequently moved to Kroměříž and, after the company merged with Lacrum, to Brno. In 1979, the dairy processed 20 million litres of milk a year and produced soft, fine or rich cheese or cheese with long-expiry date. In 1979, the dairy started producing cream cheese, the Duko cream cheese and cream desserts. In 1996, NET PLASY, spol. s r. o. purchased the Mlékárna Bystřice pod Hostýnem dairy from the National Property Fund and continued in the long-established tradition of production.

In the assortment of cream spread and Jadel steamed cheeses, the company holds one of the leading positions among domestic producers. Duko thermized cheeses have an exceptional market position as these have been the classic brand of dairy Bystřice pod Hostýnem, which the company has decided to continue developing. In addition to standard production, the company also manufactures private brands of some domestic commercial chains. The dairy is interested in further significant profiling among Czech dairies both in assortment as well as in first-class customer and product care. In 2001, the company acquired an ISO 9001 certificate, which obligates it to maintain high quality products, complete services and reliable behaviour. Our modern dairy has 120 employees and processes approximately 34 million litres of milk annually. In recent years, we have also expanded into foreign markets. For our products, we have received an entire array of prestigious awards. The primary goals of the company are quality products and customer satisfaction.
